Design and implement effective teaching/learning processes and develop curriculum in chemistry and related areas; prepare course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, and engage in the selection of textbook and other teaching aids necessary to the instruction of courses; conduct classroom instruction for one or more courses in the curriculum at the higher education level. Teach pertinent course subject using lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, and other appropriate modes of educational delivery. Lead and monitor classroom instruction that promotes educational and learning processes in keeping with faculty academic freedom and responsibility; remain current in their discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect the current levels of knowledge in the discipline; foster student development, serve as academic advisor to students, and maintain an appropriate schedule to allow for student access and inquiry; supervise and maintain laboratories and equipment; work in partnership with student services personnel on student advising and orientation; participate in necessary institutional functions such as, but not limited to, university committees, club sponsorship, facilitation of advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.
Supervise players both on and off the court/field. Supervise assistant coaches during practice and games. Recruit the best possible student athletes to the College. Report all relevant activities and actions to the athletic director. Follow the proper chain of command with any relevant issues. Maintain a proper working relationship with all faculty and staff. Supervise and maintain the facilities that are used by the team. Organize practice and game plans for the players and assistants. Monitor equipment to ensure proper use and inventory. Ensure proper conduct of the student athletes and assistants. Coordinate program, including, scheduling games, travel requests, camps, budgeting, recruiting, and monitor player academic responsibilities. Coordinate practice schedule and facility use with the athletic scheduler. Execute other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
The instructional faculty member will be responsible for teaching, advising, service, professional activities and/or development and other duties as assigned.
