Are you planning to attend the 59th General Conference Session of the Worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church? Washington Adventist University will be there with a booth, a number of concerts, and faculty and staff participation in numerous events. We hope to see you there.

The University’s booth is no. 1145, building C, area C4A. Enter the main entrance of the exhibit hall, turn left and walk down aisle 1100 or 1200. Please stop by to chat, get a copy of our latest magazine, and, if you’re a member of the alumni association, collect our exclusive WAU lapel pin. We’ll be open whenever the exhibit hall is open.

Washington Adventist University, Columbia Union College, and Washington Missionary College alumni are invited to a light buffet supper on Thursday, July 1, from 5-7 pm in the World Congress Center Building A, Rooms 402 & 403. NEYE members Preston Hawes and Oksana Skrypkar will play a violin duet on Friday, July 2, at the 6:20 pm program in the Georgia Dome. They will play at approximately 7:55 pm.

Douglas Morgan, a faculty member in WAU’s Department of History & Political Studies, will be signing his newest book, Lewis C. Sheafe, Apostle to Black America, which will be released at the Session. The book profiles the ministry of Lewis Sheafe, Baptist minister turned Adventist, and his movements and efforts in establishing the first congregation of predominately black Seventh-Day Adventists. He will have two signing appearances in the Adventist Book Center location in the exhibit hall, Friday, June 25 from 2-7 pm and Saturday, June 26 from 9:15-10:45 am.

The 59th General Conference Session of the Worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church is taking place in Atlanta, Georgia from June 23-July 3. Held every five years, the sessions have been held regularly since 1863 as the official world meeting of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
